Born and raised in Beckley, WV; Dr. Harvey graduated from Woodrow High School in 1979. He then went on to Duke University in Durham, NC and graduated with a BA in Chemistry in 1983.

Dr. Harvey attended St. George's University School of Medicine, located in Grenada, and graduated in 1988 before attending St. Michael's Medical Center in New Jersey from 1989-1992. He continued his education at Seton Hall University's School of Graduate Medical Education, graduating in 1992.

Dr. Harvey opened his private practice in Beckley, WV, in October, 1992 and specialized in Internal Medicine, Allergy and Asthma. He has admitting privileges at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital and Beckley Hospital.
